Public Safety Update/Summary of Incidents/November 2-8, 2009
30 October; 8:45am-2:45pm; reported 4 November: A visitor to the campus reported that her vehicle was broken into and a laptop stolen while the vehicle was parked in the north parking lot. There were no signs of forced entry into the vehicle. A report was filed with the Phoenix Police. The laptop is valued at $500.00.
2 November; 2:55pm: A student passed our while in the library. Paramedics responded to the scene and the student was taken to Saint Joseph's for additional treatment.
3 November; 7:35am: Safety staff witnessed a vehicle accident in the west parking lot. An elderly student was attempting to back from a parking slot when she struck the vehicle next to her. There were no injuries. The vehicle owners exchanged insurance information and a report was filed.
4 November; 10:15am: Safety staff responded to a report of a student having a seizure between the Music and H buildings. Paramedics responded to the scene and the student was taken to Saint Joseph's for further treatment.
4 November; 8:31-11:30am: A student reported criminal damage to his vehicle while it was parked on the 2nd level of the parking garage. Someone had used a sharp instrument to scratch obscene language on the hood of the vehicle. The incident was not detected on the surveillance cameras.
6 November; 6:00pm: A visitor to the campus struck and knocked down a stop sign in the west parking lot. The driver said that he was not paying attention at the time of the incident. Maintenance staff was notified.
